Thanks to allies in countries around the world, the recent International Week of Action to Demand Freedom for the Santa Marta Water Defenders and to Defend El Salvador's Mining Prohibition was a great success. Starting on Earth Day, protests were held from El Salvador to Washington, DC to the Philippines. Meanwhile, allies around the world wrote to their governmental representatives, and spread information and demonstrations of solidarity through social media. On Monday, May 1, El Salvador’s popular social movements mobilized the Salvadoran working class to brave the streets to celebrate International Workers Day, despite the ever-present threats of arrest and political persecution under the now indefinite State of Exception.

Position: Full-time National Organizer (40 hrs/week)
Duration: Minimum 2-year commitment
Location: Los Angeles or Washington, D.C.
Salary: $41,777 with annual cost of living increase; additional stipends available for parents and caregivers. Benefits include full healthcare and dental coverage, paid parental leave, two weeks paid vacation in the first year and four weeks paid vacation thereafter.

Position: Part-time Organizer (20 hrs/week)

Location: Washington, D.C.
Salary: $20,888 with annual cost of living increase; additional stipends available for parents and caregivers. Benefits include full healthcare and dental coverage, paid parental leave, two weeks paid vacation in the first year and four weeks paid vacation thereafter.
