¡Si Se Pudo! We did it!

October 10, 2012.

We are humbled and inspired by the generosity of our friends and supporters, who not only closed the gap on our $5000 goal yesterday, but surpassed it –  we raised over $5500!

Matched, your dollars multiply to more than $10,000, which will help CISPES’s make a big impact this fall as we continue to accompany the transformations underway in El Salvador and kick off our campaign to stop US intervention in the 2014 elections.

Today we also celebrate the 32nd anniversary of the FMLN – over 30 years of struggle and victories – as we remember all those who lost their lives in the struggle for justice, equality and dignity. ¡Hasta la victoria siempre!

We know it’s going to take constant organizing to defend and strengthen the progress that El Salvador has made over the past few years.  With the support of people like you, CISPES will be able to build a strong solidarity movement in the US – folks who are ready to fight back against US intervention.

This fall will be jam-packed!  Across the country, returning delegates will be talking to the press and to their communities in order to build international support for inspiring government initiatives in El Salvador. This winter, we’ll be hosting organizers from the Salvadoran union movement who are on the forefront of the struggle against US-backed privatization as we gear up for new solidarity brigades in the spring – stay tuned to our website for more information!

Our deepest thanks to ALL of you for your support – not only your donations but also your commitment to international solidarity and to building the world we know is possible. ¡Venceremos!

En solidaridad,

Lisa Fuller, CISPES Program Director
