The time is now!
As the economic crisis deepens our movements must come together in solidarity to protect our rights and build an economy that works for everyone. May Day, (also known as International Workers' Rights Day), has a rich history going back more than a century as workers fought for - and won - the eight-hour
day.

Today, faced with a crumbling economic system and increasing attacks on immigrants and working people, we must join together to defend our basic rights to health and happiness. Great change has only been achieved when people have risen up to demand justice and fight for the common good. We ask you to join us on May 1st as we take to the streets to celebrate our collective power and work together to build a better world. In solidarity, we set forth our demands below, and remind you that THE PEOPLE, UNITED, WILL NEVER BE DIVIDED!

    * Stop the ICE Raids and End all detentions!
    * Comprehensive Immigration Reform Now!
    * No more bailouts for the banks and corporations!
    * Tax the corporations, banks and wealthy!
    * Sustainable Jobs for all!
    * Stop cuts to education, social services and Tri-Met!
    * Quality Health Care for all!
    * Housing is a Human Right!
    * Stop evictions and foreclosures!

¡Ya es hora!  !!REFORMA INMIGRATORIA AHORA!!
Hoy mas que nunca es hora de cambiar profundamente los sistemas económicos, judiciales, y políticos de este país y el mundo. El 1ro de mayo de 1886, los trabajadores
estadounidenses se unieron en masa para reclamar justicia económica y política, demandando la creación de un día laboral de 8 horas ante la violenta oposición e intimidación de sus patrones. Al ganar esta lucha, los trabajadores crearon un nuevo estándar de vida,
más sano, feliz, y productivo.

Hoy, ante un sistema económico en ruinas que amenaza nuestros derechos básicos a la salud y la felicidad, debemos nuevamente luchar por crear un estándar de vida. A
través de la historia, los grandes cambios se han logrado cuando las personas se unen para crear una mayoría que demanda justicia y lucha por el bien común. Este 1ro de mayo, pedimos que se una a nosotros para marchar en las calles y celebrar nuestro poder colectivo, juntos forjando un mejor camino y realizando un futuro más hermoso.

En solidaridad, presentamos nuestras demandas, y le recordamos que ¡EL PUEBLO UNIDO, JAMAS SERA VENCIDO!

    * ¡Alto a las redadas y todas las detenciones!
